- конфликт между Трумэном и Макартуром в 1951 во время войны в Корее. Макартур, который командовал войсками ООН, хотел использовать американскую авиацию для нанесения ударов по Китайской Народной Республике. Трумэн запретил, боясь, что это вовлечёт в войну Советский Союз, и сместил Макартура с поста командующего. Вернувшийся в США Макартур был встречен как герой и, выступая в Конгрессе, заявил: *‘Old soldiers never die; they only fade away’
